Are you tired of left/right politics that go nowhere, and constant broken promises from politicians? So are we! But we don’t have to stay in our political ruts – there are important, non-partisan issues that can move our state forward.
Through simple, measurable goals, and easily consumed information about our representatives and their voting record we can fight corruption in our legislature. We are everyday North Carolinians — parents, homeowners, workers, and taxpayers — who are deeply concerned by the direction our state is heading. All too often, decisions made in Raleigh serve profit-motivated interests rather than the people who call North Carolina home.
We believe in sensible growth, sound fiscal stewardship, and government that puts North Carolina citizens first.
Our goals are:
- Responsible decisions on land use and development that protect the quality of life and local authority of towns and counties across North Carolina. Action item: Legislation that empowers local governments
- Fiscal discipline and transparency that ensure tax dollars are used efficiently and reinvested in North Carolina through smarter, locally focused finance. Action item: Legislation that allows for public banks
- A State government that is accountable, service-motivated, and free from the influence of private profiteers. Action item: Anti-corruption legislation with teeth
Why a “Wall”?
The “Wall” is a metaphor for integrity — a barrier that keeps profit-motivated influence out of service-motivated government.
The NC Wall stands to protect the boundary between private interests and public duty. It exists to hold back the tide of corruption, to defend the public trust, and to remind our leaders that they are elected to serve, not to profit.
We are not anti-business. The profit motive has its rightful place — in the marketplace, not the legislature.
Just as we would not want oil companies writing our clean water laws, we should not tolerate developers, lobbyists, or financiers shaping state policies for their own enrichment.
Our Government exists to protect the people — and that power, backed by the force of law, must be exercised with humility and care.
Your Home
North Carolina’s towns, counties, and countryside are changing faster than our infrastructure, schools, and communities can handle. This is not an accident — it is the predictable result of a legislature whose decisions are too often influenced by the interests of the private sector.
Many lawmakers work in the same industries they regulate, and/or accept massive campaign donations from those who do. They push laws that strip local governments of zoning control and force rapid residential expansion — not because it serves the people, but because it serves profits.
Your home is not just your house; it’s your town, your roads, your peace and safety. We believe in stable growth that protects existing residents — not growth at any cost.
Your Money
Our tax dollars should build a stronger North Carolina, not line the pockets of private financiers or fund wasteful pet projects.
The NC Wall supports responsible spending and innovative ideas that strengthen the public sector. One such idea is public banking — a proven model that allows states and cities to keep their money working locally.
A North Carolina Public Bank, as evidenced by the century-old example of success in North Dakota, could provide low-interest loans for major infrastructure projects, reduce borrowing costs, support small businesses, and keep profits circulating within our own economy rather than disappearing into Wall Street.
In short: your money should serve you — not the financial elite.
Your State
Our State Government needs more accountability at the top. Many North Carolinians don’t realize how much of their daily life — from school policies to zoning power — is dictated by state legislation written under the influence of lobbyists and PACs.
However, the NC Wall will call for stronger anti-corruption legislation and shine light on this system — tracking conflicts of interest, exposing corruption, and making it easy for citizens to see who their legislators truly serve.
Transparency is not radical. It’s the minimum standard for a functioning democracy.
Standing for Accountability
We are not partisan – we are pro-accountability.
Additionally, we support good government, not bigger government — responsible growth, not reckless expansion — public service, not self-service.
The NC Wall exists to protect Your Home. Your Money. Your State.
Because North Carolina belongs to its people — and it’s time we took it back.
All political power is vested in and derived from the people; all government of right originates from the people, is founded upon their will only, and is instituted solely for the good of the whole.
–Constitution of the State of North Carolina, Sec. 2. Sovereignty of the people.
